As part of FCC's commitment to building resilient infrastructure across Afghanistan, these two bridge construction projects were delivered to strengthen regional connectivity and support local communities. Both structures were designed and built to international engineering standards, addressing the critical need for safe, durable crossings over natural waterways. From foundation engineering to final completion, each project followed a rigorous construction process ensuring long-term structural performance, load capacity, and resistance to seasonal environmental conditions. Structural Works & Construction Scope

  • 12-meter single span, one-lane vehicle bridge built across the Surkhab River
  • 6.5 meters wide, engineered for safe and reliable vehicular passage
  • Located in Dalilee Village, Tala Wa Barfak District, Baghlan Province
  • Foundation designed to account for local soil conditions and the behavior of the Surkhab River
Completed under a subcontract with ARD-LGCD/USAID, the Dalilee Bridge was designed and constructed to provide a permanent and reliable crossing over the Surkhab River in Baghlan Province. Previously, residents faced serious difficulties, especially during seasonal flooding that disrupted access to markets, healthcare, and essential routes. The bridge was engineered with a focus on flood resilience, load-bearing capacity, and long-term durability, significantly improving connectivity and quality of life for the surrounding communities.

This pedestrian bridge was delivered to meet the community’s need for a safe and reliable daily crossing. Previously, residents, including children, elderly people, and those carrying goods, faced risks and difficulties crossing without a dedicated structure. Designed with simplicity and durability in mind, the bridge now provides a safe and consistent passage, improving daily mobility. Its completion reflects FCC’s commitment to infrastructure at all scales, from major bridges to pedestrian crossings, that enhance everyday community life.
