High-Accuracy Reality Capture Modeling

Project Overview:

FCC received 3D laser scan data for Al Dera Souq I and developed a detailed as-built BIM model at LOD 500 covering the complete interior of the building. Working from the point cloud dataset, every architectural element was modeled, from ceiling to floor, capturing the full existing condition of this traditional commercial building to support the client's renovation and restoration planning.

Scope of Work

  • Complete interior modeling across all retail units, corridors, and circulation spaces throughout the building
  • Ceiling geometry fully modeled including soffits, recesses, bulkheads, and all overhead architectural features
  • Floor surfaces documented with accurate finish information and level variations throughout the entire footprint
  • Walls, columns, arches, and all structural and architectural elements modeled with precise geometry
  • Doors, shopfronts, and all opening geometry captured with accurate positioning throughout
  • Casework and fixed interior elements modeled across all relevant spaces within the building

Using scan data, FCC developed a precise as-built BIM model capturing the full interior condition of Al Dera Souq I. The model provides a trusted foundation for architects and restoration teams, ensuring all design and construction decisions are based on accurate existing conditions.
