Al Dera Souq — II As-Built

High-Accuracy Reality Capture Modeling

Project Overview:

FCC received 3D laser scan data for Al Dera Souq II and developed a detailed as-built BIM model at LOD 500 covering the complete interior of the building. As the second structure within the same traditional commercial complex, the same rigorous modeling standard was applied, delivering a verified as-built record of the full existing condition to support renovation and restoration work across both buildings.

Scope of Work

  • Complete interior modeling across all retail units, corridors, and circulation spaces throughout the building
  • Ceiling geometry fully modeled including soffits, recesses, bulkheads, and all overhead architectural features
  • Floor surfaces documented with accurate finish information and level variations throughout the entire footprint
  • Walls, columns, arches, and all structural and architectural elements modeled with precise geometry
  • Doors, shopfronts, and all opening geometry captured with accurate positioning throughout

  • Traditional architectural features including arches, ornate detailing, and irregular geometries carefully interpreted from the point cloud
  • Varied commercial spaces, from individual retail units to shared corridors and common areas, all modeled consistently to the same standard

Al Dera Souq II’s traditional character required careful interpretation of complex geometry from scan data. Every detail was preserved in the as-built model, providing restoration teams with a complete and accurate record of the building’s existing condition.

Working from the provided scan data, FCC developed a precise as-built BIM model capturing the full interior condition of Al Dera Souq II. Together with the documentation of the first building, the delivered dataset gives the client a complete and reliable as-built record of the entire Al Dera Souq complex — ready to support renovation and restoration across both structures.
