High-Accuracy Reality Capture Modeling

Project Overview:

FCC received 3D laser scan data for Rosenberg Library and developed a detailed as-built BIM model documenting the complete interior and exterior of the building. The scope covered all architectural elements throughout, including detailed millwork both inside and outside the building, decorative mesh ceiling features, delivering a thorough and precise as-built record to directly support the library's renovation and restoration planning.

Scope of Work

  • Complete interior modeling across all reading rooms, corridors, circulation spaces, and ancillary areas throughout the facility
  • Ceiling geometry fully modeled including soffits, bulkheads, recesses, and decorative mesh ceiling elements where present
  • Interior millwork modeled comprehensively across all spaces including built-in shelving, joinery, counters, and all fixed decorative elements
  • Exterior millwork fully captured and modeled as part of the complete building envelope documentation
  • Sprinkler heads modeled across all ceiling areas reflecting true installed positions throughout the facility
  • Full exterior envelope modeled including facades, architectural detailing, and all external architectural features

  • All architectural elements modeled at LOD 500 reflecting true installed and existing conditions throughout the building
  • Decorative mesh ceiling elements carefully interpreted from the point cloud and modeled with full geometric accuracy
  • Interior and exterior millwork developed with particular attention to detail — preserving the architectural character of the library within the as-built dataset

The detailed millwork, distinctive ceilings, and architectural significance required a careful modeling approach. Every element was developed from scan data to accurately reflect Rosenberg Library’s existing character and condition, supporting restoration teams with reliable information for confident planning and execution.
